Philadelphia St. Patrickís Day Parade Marshalís Duties and Info

Marshalís 1st Meeting: Tues March 7, 2017  - 7:00 PM
Marshals Follow up Meeting: Tues  March 28, 2017 -  7:00 PM 

WE HAVE A NEW PARADE ROUTE SO ALL OR A REPRESENATIVE MUST ATTEND

My notes from our meetings:

Update Mailing list and contact sheet, pass out current and make changes.

Hand out assignments, badges, and tickets, captainís reports

Explain Barricades on JFK. We put them up.

Buses to go to Lemon Hill Drive.

Explain staging and bus pick up.

Explain keep Middle of JFK open for Emergency Vehicles

Explain end of parade now at Lemon Hill. Push end of Parade

Emphasize safety and explain duties

Signs will be up on street corners.

Captainís reports due at end of parade.

Div 1 & 2  assembles 10:30 marshals due at 10:00

Div 3 assembles 11:30 marshals due at 10:30
Div 4 assembles 12:00 marshals due at 11:00
Div 5 assembles 12:30 marshals due at 11:30
Div 6 assembles 1:00 marshals due at 12:00
Div 7 assembles 1:30 marshals due at 12:30

Div 8 to 12, assembles 2:00 marshals due at 1:00

Captain meeting at 16th& JFK (Div 1-4) 11:00 PM

All large vehicles parked on JFK 10:00 AM!

Cars or busses not in parade drive or park on JFK Ave.

Need marshals to keep divisions close at reviewing stand.

Move dancer's parents forward to right

No Political, vehicle, and offensive signs

CAR SPONSOR in 2016 FORD with Fox 29  # 51

Phila Firetrucks on Arch at 16th st. facing Art Museum  

No throwing anything

Performing groups are dancers only.

All groups with bands must go through

Homeland Security needs registration prior or they are not allowing vehicles in the parade.

Insurance Certificates on windshields

I want forms at reviewing stand

All marshals must come by me and keep on going to Lemon Hill

Walkers at Stands do not stand in the way

AIRHORN  5 short blasts means 5 minutes to go, 1 long blast is GO!

FINAL MOST IMPORTANT ITEMS:

IF THERE IS CONFUSION AND NO CAPTAIN AROUND, SAFETY COMES FIRST!!!!!  NO ONE MOVES A TRUCK WITHOUT 3 MARSHALS, 1 FRONT, 1 IN REAR, 1 WITH DRIVER.  IF THERE IS ANY DANGER, LEAVE IT THERE, AND LET THEM WALK OR BE OUT OF ORDER.
